Zidane confirms there will be changes in the squad as Real Madrid set their ambitions for La Liga next season.

In the times when every big name is rumored to be in touch with Real Madrid delegates. Zinedine Zidane confirms there will be changes made to the squad in order to compete in all three competitions, especially La Liga where the club has not dominated for a decade now.

Ahead of the final game of the season in Santiago Bernabeu against Celta de Vigo. Zinedine Zidane made some serious comments on the upcoming season and the squad changes.

The former world cup winner spoke during the pre-match press conference on various topics.

“It’s the last game of the season at our stadium and we want to give our fans one last treat by winning the match. They deserve it and that’s what we are going to try to do tomorrow.”

“We started the season phenomenally, winning three titles. Things didn’t go so well in La Liga and the cup (Copa Del Rey), but now we’re in the Champions League Final.”

“The league is over 38 games but the Champions League is amazing. Everyone loves it and we’re going to play in the third consecutive final. It’s very nice.”

Zidane expressed his displeasure of not doing well in La Liga and is committed for improvising things for the next season.

“We want to win everything, but you also have to accept that negative moments are part of your career and you have to live with them to improve things.”

“Next season Real Madrid will want to do everything possible to change what happened this year and try to win La Liga.”

The coach went on and talked about the star player of Celta Vigo, Iago Aspas. The 30-year-old has been in the decent scoring form for past couple of seasons.

“Aspas is a Spanish international and a very good player. I like him and he’s a bonus for Celta.”

Zidane remains quiet on his future but it seems likely that the coach will stay, especially according to the plans he has for the next season. He is a loved figure in the club and everyone thinks he is the best man for the job.

“My future? Whatever happens, happens. I’m only interested in thinking positively and doing everything possible to win in Kiev. It’s the results that count. I’m a worker, I like football and like what I’m doing. I’ve always won everything as a player and why wasn’t I going to do it as a coach.”

Zidane was earlier criticised for not making any big signings and for the suffering in La Liga which wethered off a bit when his side made it to the Final of UCL after knocking out PSG, Juventus and Bayern Munchen.

“We can’t control criticism and it’s part of our life. We have to accept being criticised when things don’t go well. Those who play less have shown character and what they’ve done, they’ve done well.”

“The blame lies with everyone, not with those who play less and the first person responsible for it is me. In terms of motivation and consistency, we’re all in the same boat, but the person in charge is me.”

The French coach claimed that his side will play with the same enthusiasm even if the league has been decided. The match against Celta Vigo might just be sufficient enough for Zidane to practice his pairings and tactics before the big game against Liverpool in the UCL Final.

“Our motivation isn’t going to change just because we’re not going to win La Liga, but playing is the best way to prepare, playing well at a high level of intensity. There’s nothing that can replicate a game.”

“Favourites for the final? I’m not going to stop people talking, what they say on the outside is one thing and what we think inside is something else.”

“We have two weeks to give our all. You have to prepare well for the match and defend very well and then attack. We’re very good with the ball and I don’t think that our problem is the defence. It’s very solid and I’m very proud of it.”

“We’ll play the final against a very good attacking team. We want to give everything to defend the title and try to win a Champions League that everyone wants to win.”

Finally, the much-awaited talk about the Brazillian superstar Neymar Jr. Zidane expresses his views about the player and mentions about changes to the squad before the start of the next season. He also talks about compatibility which might refer to Neymar as he had some issues with Edinson Cavani at PSG regarding compatibility.

“Neymar? I’m not the one to decide these things today. I’m worried about what lies ahead. After the final there’ll be talks with the club because there’ll probably be changes, but now I can’t talk about anything.”

“Good players are always compatible. There is always chemistry among good players. I don’t know if they’re negotiating with Neymar, but I don’t believe they are because what we care about is what we’re doing now.”

“We’re going in to a final, the fourth in five years, and we’re only focused on that. We’ve got two games to prepare for our final and we’re going to do things well in order to succeed in our final.”

The coach is definitely focused on the Kiev Final on 26th of May 2018 but gave subtle hints regarding the ongoing negotiations with the Brazillian player. Time will tell if the transfer actually takes place and at what price does it settles down.

Real Madrid plays Celta Vigo tonight at 7:45 PM CET. The match will be telecasted live via the official broadcasting partners of La Liga Santander.
