LaLiga has been a league which has nurtured some of the best talents in the world over the past few years. To name some, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Raul, Puyol, Griezmann, Forlan, Modric, Ramos, and the list goes on and on. It has always been one of the motives for the Spanish league to keep the players with them for as long as possible.
LaLiga President Javier Tebas Medrano who recently wished for Neymar to come back in LaLiga has now spoken on the latest departure of 5-time Balon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo. Tebas in his latest interaction with Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo has claimed that he knows the reason why Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid for the Italian club Juventus.
“Ronaldo has gone for a fiscal issue. In Italy, due to the new regulations, it will charge more net of the gross than in Spain. Real Madrid had a hard time competing with that and there will be more reasons, but that’s a very big one.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has been long dealing with tax evasion accusations and the latest one being reported to be admitted by the Portuguese forward which will be settled in near future by Spanish tax authorities after agreeing on a fine of approximately 20 million euros.
Javier Tebas believes that LaLiga is now a stable league with various star players representing the league and rejecting offers from other competitive leagues such as English Premier League, Serie A, and Ligue 1. He claims that now he doesn’t much sleep over the players choosing to leave.
“A few years ago I would have worried about losing so many stars at once, maybe a nine out of ten. Now, with the brand image we have, I worry about a 4 out of 10.”
LaLiga surely is one of the best leagues in the world with 2 of the best clubs ever, Real Madrid and Barcelona dominating the lead while other sides such as Valencia, Atletico Madrid, and Sevilla continue to give a competition.
Cristiano Ronaldo who joined Juventus has officially made it clear that he won’t be playing in the preseason and his aim is to be ready for the first league match of Serie A. This would mean that Real Madrid will not be facing their ex-player in the preseason tour of the USA where they will play against Juventus, AS Roma, and Manchester United before they kick off their season against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup on 15th August 2018.
