The Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp who is on a pre-season tour with his side in the United States of America has spoken on the UEFA Champions League Final against Real Madrid after 2 months.
The German coach whose team fell short of 3-1 against the Spanish capital side has not held back from criticising the captain of Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos and also the club as a whole. Klopp believes the tackle of Ramos on Salah was mischievous and expressed his not so good views about the defender.
“If you’re not a Madridista and see it again, it was ruthless and brutal. If you put together all of Ramos’ actions, and I’ve been watching football since I was 5, you’ll see that a lot of things happen with him. We didn’t like what happened but we can’t change it, obviously. People will say I’m weak and a bad loser or a complainer but I’m not. You (journalist) asked me about it and I answered. It’s not like I wake up every morning thinking about Ramos.”Jurgen Klopp continues to claim that Karius was concussed by Ramos and that resulted in the mistakes committed by the keeper and cost Liverpool the UEFA Champions League title.“Beckenbauer called me and said that Karius suffered from a concussion after Bayern’s doctor examined him. He told me he knew immediately he suffered one when Ramos hit him. How can we imagine that a player who didn’t show any symptoms in before doing the mistakes if he wasn’t influenced by Ramos’ hit? That’s our explanation.”The comments have not been taken well by the Madridistas as expected and many even claim it to be a “loser’s excuse” especially after various videos have surfed on social media which show that Karius is still committing similar mistakes in the pre-season and also the tackle of Ramos from various other angles has been shown which may suggest that both the players were already going down.Real Madrid legend and ex-goalkeeper of the club, Iker Casillas has come in the support of the Karius by asking fans not to be so harsh on him and leave him alone. The former World Champion had also tweeted his own video compilation of mistakes he had committed throughout his career as a symbolic message against the trolls and critics.
