The 33-year-old Andres Iniesta has decided to call an end to his top tier football at Barcelona. The former World Cup winner has decided he won’t be playing in Europe anymore as he will not play against his boyhood club. He announced his move to China last week and will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
The Spaniard will feature in his last ever professional ‘El Clasico’ if he is fit. Yesterday, he missed a training session which has created a doubt of his availability for the game.
According to Spanish news outlet Marca, both the clubs will pay a tribute to Andres Iniesta. The Catalan based club and Spanish Captial side will combine and give Gaurd of Honor to the midfielder.
Iniesta is adored by the fans of every club in Spain including his childhood favorites, Real Madrid. Later he followed the advice of his parents and joined youth team of Barcelona and then stayed there ever since.
He is one of the few players who has been on the receiving end of a standing ovation in Santiago Bernabeu, the home stadium of Real Madrid. Even the club members and representatives of the rival clubs have always spoken in high praise of Iniesta.
The El Clasico will be played in Camp Nou, Barcelona on 6 May 2018, at 7:45 PM CET.
The fixture will be telecasted live all over the world via the official broadcasting partners of La Liga.
